One of my favorite candies is the aussie violet crumble which is discontinued

For a lifetime i thought i could only get chocolate covered covered honeycomb from australia

How sad

We foun it at a grocery store about a mile from here!!

And sobi wanted to try and make it!!

Here was the first try

It was gross

Lets just say lets not mistake TEAspoons for TABLEspoons!!! Especially when it comes to bakig soda!!

Which makes it foam and rise…

So this time i only put half the teaspoons…

Its gauranteed to rip your teeth out!!

I keep it in the fridge to keep away from the dentist…

Yumm

I got the recipe from food network but changed it right away as i never have corn syrup…i found what ican substitute it with!!

So here it is revised:

2 1/3 cup sugar
3/4 Cup water
1/3 cup honey
3-4 TEAspoons baking soda

In a large saucepan, dissolve sugar in water then add honey

I cooked this to 260/280• but ifyou dont have a candy thermometer, cook until it is amber colored and like a syrup/caramelly

This next part happens very fast

Add the baking soda (make sure theres bo lumps) and mix thoroughly. It will foam up a lot!!

Pour onto a foil lined jelly roll pan or whatever you have…
I used a pan with sides so it will be thick

I refridgerated it, broke it into pieces, an dipped it in chocolate!

Enjoy!!
