A few months ago my sister (in law) asked me to make a wedding cake topper for her engaged sister in law

The wedding cake topper she wanted was sold out on etsy

It was much like this one…the birds were needle felted and i was like boy that would be fun to learn but since i knew i would be crushed for time, after elongated procrastination, i crocheted the birds!

The peg leg and all four swords were carved to a point and painted…from chopsticks!

The birds’ feet, which is made from wire i painted are sewn through the cardboard base to provide a sturdy hold…

The map was printed from the computer then burned all around the edges.

The flours are made from paper and felt and wire, also painted.

The base is made from circle cardboard i got from my pampered chef packaging!!
hahaha

The white lacey material is leftover from my wedding dress, which i also made myself

The eyes are buttons

The skull and crossbones were cut from felt then glued, as i had prior experience doing that for hat on the pirates of the carribean ride at disneyland, except this one was way smaller!

I had much fun making this!
